The Buildings Department approved six building plans in October, with two in Kowloon and four in the New Territories, according to a statement made by the Government.
Of the approved plans, three were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, two were for factory and industrial developments and one was for community services developments.
In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 10 building projects that, when completed, will provide 112,214 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 2,270 units, and 157,635 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for seven building projects.
The department also issued 14 occupation permits, with two on Hong Kong Island, eight in Kowloon and four in the New Territories. Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 35,607 square metres, involving 674 units, and 92,417 square metres was for non-domestic use.
The declared cost of new buildings completed in October totalled about HK$3.5 billion.
