The Land Registry said today the number of sale and purchase agreements for all building units received for registration in December was 6,967, a decrease of 19.2% compared with November but an increase of 31.6% from a year earlier.
The 12-month moving average for December was 6,084, 2.4% above the 12-month moving average for November but 4.1% below that for the same month in 2015.
The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements in December was HK$47.5 billion, down 33.3% month-on-month but up 29.8% year-on-year.
Among the sale and purchase agreements, 3,550 were for residential units, a decrease of 47.3% compared with November and down 12.2% from the same period in 2015. The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements in respect of residential units was HK$32.9 billion, down 46.7% month-on-month but up 10.2% year-on-year.
