HK stocks closed virtually unchanged on Tuesday morning session as investors are waiting for FOMC's meeting statement. The benchmark index opened flat at 26,847 and rose barely 42 points at most to 26,889.
The Hang Seng Index ended up 2 points or 0.01% to 26,849. The H-share index fell 23 points or 0.2% to 10,797. Half-day turnover increased slightly to HK$44.4 billion from HK$42.3 billion on Monday.
AAC Technologies (02018) clarified that its management have not mentioned any profit forecast figures during analysts site visit in Changzhou earlier. It rose 1% to HK$106 becoming the top blue-chip gainer. Meanwhile, Daiwa Research also raised its target price for the company to HK$121. Sunny Optical (02382) added 2% to HK$94.35.
Tencent (00700) advanced 1% to HK$304.6 writing fresh record high after BofAML lifted its target price to HK$331.
China Merchants Bank (03968) jumped 4% to HK$25.75 as the Chinese lender reported net profit of RMB39.2 billion (up 11.4% YoY) for the first half of 2017. China Construction Bank (00939) rose 1% to HK$6.47.
Sunac China (01918) plunged 8% to HK$18.5 after the developer has agreed to place 220 million shares at HK$18.33 per share, representing a discount of about 8.81% to the previous closing price, for HK$4,002 million. China Vanke (02202) slipped 3% to HK$21.9. China Evergrande (03333) and China Overseas Land & Investment (00688) softened 1% to HK$17.18 and HK$25.45.
Great Wall Motor (02333) fell 1% to HK$9.9 after Daiwa Research downgraded the automaker to "sell" with a lower target price of HK$8. Dongfeng Motor Group (00489) also dipped 3% to HK$9.65.
