Daiwa Research lifted its target price for Flat Glass Group (06865) to HK$19.5 from HK$15.5 and maintained its "buy" rating.
President Xi Jinping announced that China aims to reach peak CO2 emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2060. The research house noted that earlier this month, various industry reports indicated China may lift its renewable installation target over the 14th Five-Year Plan (FYP) for 2021-25.
As such, Daiwa expects solar manufacturers to accelerate their capacity expansions to prepare for the surging solar demand ahead. It raised its 2022 EPS forecasts by 3% to reflect its new effective capacity assumptions.
