The Land Registry said today the number of sale and purchase agreements for all building units received for registration in May was 6,785, an increase of 12.9% compared with April and an increase of 28.3% from a year earlier.
The 12-month moving average for May was 5,236, 2.4% above the 12-month moving average for April but 39.3% below that for May 2013.
The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements in May was HK$39.5 billion, up 9.5% month-on-month and 27% year-on-year.
Among the sale and purchase agreements, 5,270 were for residential units, an increase of 10.2% from April and up 23.2% over the same month last year. The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements in respect of residential units was HK$31.9 billion, up 9.4% month-on-month and 32.6% year-on-year.
