Xinyi Glass (00868) said its net profit attributable to the equity holders for the six months ended 30 June 2014 dropped 24.1%year-on-year to HK$762 million.
Its basic and diluted earnings per share were HK19.43 cents and HK19.38 cents.
The revenue from continuing operations amounted to HK$5.03 billion, a decrease of 7.4% as compared with the total sales in the same period of 2013.
The gross margin decreased from 31.2% to 26.6%, which was due to not only the less favourable market environment, which resulted in decreasing selling prices of the construction glass and float glass products of the Group during the period, but also the spin-off of the solar glass business of the Group in December 2013.
The proposed interim dividend is HK9 cents (2013: HK13 cents) per share, payable on or before 8 September.
