The Land Registry today said the number of sale and purchase agreements for all building units received for registration in August was 7,902, a decrease of 15.9% compared with July but an increase of 54.6% year-on-year.
The 12-month moving average for August was 6,026, 4% above the 12-month moving average for July but 21.7% below that for the same month last year. The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements in August was HK$52.4 billion, down 17.3% month-on-month but up 73.8% year-on-year.
Among the sale and purchase agreements, 6,212 were for residential units, a decrease of 20.3% from a month earlier but up 82.3% year-on-year. The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements in respect of residential units was HK$42 billion, down 26.4% month-on-month but up 114.8% year-on-year.
