The Land Registry said today the number of sale and purchase agreements for all building units received for registration in March was 6,211, a decrease of 22.9% month-on-month but an increase of 48.4% year-on-year.
The 12-month moving average for March was 7,507, 2.3% above the 12-month moving average for February and 50.9% above that for the same month last year.
The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements in March was HK$57.2 billion, up 20.2% month-on-month and 94.6% year-on-year.
Among the sale and purchase agreements, 4,329 were for residential units, down 28.2% month-on-month but up 37.8% year-on-year. The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements in respect of residential units was HK$31.8 billion, a decrease of 22.1% from a month earlier but up 54.9% from a year earlier.
