HK stocks closed higher on Friday morning session in tandem with global markets with the benchmark index extending gains after trading started.
The Hang Seng Index ended up 383 points to 22,738. The H-share index rose 306 points to 10,594. Half-day turnover reduced to HK$53.4 billion from HK$56 billion on Thursday.
By 11:31 am, The northbound quota balance of the "Shanghai-HK Connect" program was Rmb11.666 billion, accounting for 89.7% the daily allowed quota of Rmb13 billion. The southbound quota balance was Rmb10.613 billion, surpassing the quota of Rmb10.5 billion. It means sell trade value was larger than buy order value.
Market heavyweights were higher. China Mobile (00941) gained 0.75% to HK$93.75, while HSBC (00005) rose 1.12% to HK$63.
Oil majors gained as oil price hit three-month high. CNOOC (00883) put on 5.47% to HK$9.44 and PetroChina (00857) picked up 5.37% to HK$6.47, being the top and second-top blue-chip gainer by midday. Sinopec (00386) rose 3.14% to HK$5.58.
