HK stocks opened sharply higher on Thursday following the rally of the European equity markets overnight. The Hang Seng Index opened up 251 points to 22,749. The H-share index also rose 85 point to 10,213.
Market heavyweights were mostly higher. HSBC (00005) put on 1.4% to HK$62.8. China Mobile (00941) nudged up 0.6% to HK$91.25. Tencent (00700) gained 1% to HK$158. HKEx (00388) inched up 0.3% to HK$210.6.
