Regent Pacific (00575) said it expects to record a loss attributable to the equity holders for the year ended 31 December 2016 of between US$2 million to US$3 million notwithstanding that there was a profit attributable to the equity holders of US$15.96 million for the first half of 2016.
The loss in the second half is mainly attributable to the amortisation cost of US$14.14 million of Fortacin, which is a non-cash item; and the development and commercialisation expenses of US$1.82 million relating to the launch of Fortacin.
However, it is expected that the loss attributable to the equity holders for the year ended 31 December 2016 will be significantly lower than the loss of about US$9.34 million for the corresponding year in 2015.
Its annual results announcement is expected to be published no later than March.
