CICC Research lifted its target price for Geely Automobile (00175) by 20% to HK$9, and maintained its "buy" rating.
The research house attended Geely's launch ceremony for its new Emgrand GL sedan and the investor meeting on 20-21 September.
Being equipped with advanced initiative/passive safety systems, GL has been found to
exceed domestic or even foreign brand peers with its high cost efficiency. GL will share the same plants with GS, and with higher ASP and GPM, GL has a better profitability than GS. GL orders are already over 20k, and monthly GL sales are expected to reach over 10k when fully ramped up.
