Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$69.77 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$7.54 billion, or 10.81% of the market's turnover. There were 630 short-selling stocks. KUAISHOU-W (01024) and TENCENT (00700) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$833.83 million and HK$476.57 million, or 11.06% and 6.32% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 21.94% and 12.65% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and BANK OF CHINA (03988) registered HK$447.36 million and HK$370.42 million of short sales, accounting for 5.93% and 4.91% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 14.84% and 38.89% of respective stock's turnover.
KUAISHOU-W closed up HK$0.95, or 1.63%, to HK$59.1. TENCENT ended down HK$2, or 0.52%, to HK$382.4. TRACKER FUND fell HK$0.22, or 1.14% to HK$19.12. BANK OF CHINA declined by HK$0.09, or 2.27%, to HK$3.87.
