Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$129.94 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$17.03 billion, or 13.1% of the market's turnover. There were 672 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and KUAISHOU-W (01024) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.21 billion and HK$1.11 billion, or 13% and 6.55% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 33.47% and 23.23% of respective stock's turnover.
BANK OF CHINA (03988) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$1.06 billion and HK$960.29 million of short sales, accounting for 6.2% and 5.64% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 40.59% and 13.75% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.32, or 1.65%, to HK$19.02. KUAISHOU-W ended up HK$1, or 1.72%, to HK$59.15. BANK OF CHINA fell HK$0.05, or 1.26% to HK$3.91. TENCENT declined by HK$2.6, or 0.68%, to HK$381.8.
